Human Genome Sciences Reports Positive Long-Term Data For BENLYSTA(TM) (Formerly LymphoStat-B(R)) In Patients With Active Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: HGSI) announced the presentation of results from a long-term Phase 2 continuation trial showing that BENLYSTA(TM) (belimumab, formerly LymphoStat-B(R)) was associated with sustained improvement in disease activity across multiple clinical measures, decreased frequency of disease flares, and was generally well tolerated through four years on treatment in combination with standard of care in patients with serologically active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The results were presented today in Copenhagen at the 2009 Congress of the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR).

Mersana Reports Preliminary Phase 1 Results Of XMT-1001 In Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors
Mersana Therapeutics presented preliminary results of a Phase 1 clinical trial for its lead development candidate, XMT-1001, in a poster session at the 2009 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) in Orlando. XMT-1001 is a broad-spectrum cytotoxic, based on camptothecin (CPT), conjugated to Mersana"s biodegradable polymer platform, Fleximer(R).

Have you, or do you know someone who has had diabetes for 50 years? Or even 60 or 70 years? If so, why not nominate them for a Diabetes UK Medal? You can also nominate yourself. Diabetes UK Supporter Services is presenting a selection of medals under the title of the charity"s founding fathers in recognition of the challenges that people living with diabetes for more than 50, 60 or 70 years have faced. The three medals are: - The Alan Nabarro Medal for 50 years of living with diabetes - The Robert Lawrence Medal for 60 years of living with diabetes - The John Macleod Medal for 70 years of living with diabetes How to nominate To nominate a candidate whether it is a friend, family member or even yourself, Diabetes UK requires a letter of confirmation from the person"s GP or healthcare professional. The following information is needed in the letter for us to send the correct medal: - Recipient"s name, address and date of birth - Year of diabetes diagnosis - Information regarding who the medal should be posted to.
