James W. Saxton, Esq., Chair of Stevens & Lee"s Health Care Litigation Group and Co-Chair of the Health Care Department, presented "EMR Risk in 2009 and Beyond," at the annual meeting of the Physician Insurers Association of America in Kona, HI on May 14, 2009. Addressing an audience of professional liability insurance professionals, chief executive officers and senior managers in the health care industry, Mr. Saxton discussed the potential of electronic medical records (EMRs) and the risks associated with their use. Mr. Saxton is an active defense trial lawyer - a practice he has sustained for nearly 30 years - representing providers, including hospitals, physicians and retirement communities, in state and federal court and administrative proceedings.
